Between Life and Death 2

After the completion of Tussen Leven en Dood (Between Life and Death) in 1990, Henny Allis and Horacio Sormani continued to document the incredible drama, suffering and complications of acute medical and psychiatric care. In 1991–1992 they traveled to Lithuania, Russia, Argentina, Paraguay, and Tanzania, where they photographed some of the first AIDS patients in the region. In October 1994 they visited Cuba, and India in April 1996,

Horacio’s photographs below, and those of Henny Allis, have been exhibited in a number of solo shows in the Netherlands and elsewhere.
